Around Straya
Richmond was an amazing place! We learned that it was part of the Dinosaur Trail of Australia. In Richmond is where they found a whole, intact Kronosaurus skeleton. Apparently the Kronosaurus skeleton is now in a university in the USA.
We went to do some of our own fossil hunting in the fossil fields of Richmond. People from the science centre go there every day. There were some big dinosaur teeth found only the day before we got there by one of the scientists in the office.
We were very excited that we got to find two belemnite (squid skeleton) and one ichythosaurus vertebrae which is a dinosaur like a small dolphin.
It was very hot and tiring work so we did not stay there very long. There was not much shade from the sun and the baby was not enjoying it so we only stayed there one hour but it was very interesting!
