Around Straya
Karratha was a dirty but beautiful. We stayed at a caravan park on the edge of town.
We got there in the evening, so we couldn’t do much that day in Karratha. The next day was my (Hadassah’s) birthday so we had a special brekkie. That day we only went to the warm pools. They were beautiful. Priscilla still asks to go.
We didn’t do much in Karratha, but we did do the Aboriginal painting rocks. The Aboriginal painting rocks were about the oldest painted rocks you can find. There was lot of different pictures. there where animal paintings and other strange pictures.
Dampier
Dampier is only about 20 minutes from Karratha on the coast. It was a beautiful little place and we only went to the beach. The beach had lovely reddish sand, and some stinging jellyfish. There was a lovely playground and the sunset was such a beautiful glow. We stayed there all afternoon with Mama and just enjoyed being ourselves. We played, watched the sunset, watched the animals and learned about the pigeons that we had seen a lot of in Karijini National Park. We learned they were called Spinifex Pigeons.
