Around Straya
Our next stop along Flinders Highway was Julia Creek. A tiny outback town where a lot of people walk around with cowboy hats and cowboy jeans and flannel t.shirts. It seemed very much the outback scene. We stayed there for one night beside the river on the outskirts of town. It was a beautiful spot to stay with lots of bird life and the kids had fun pretending to fish in the river.
We spent some time in the Julia Creek Library. We thought it was funny because the Librarian looked after everybody’s kids after school until their parents came to pick them up.
We watched the sun go down at Julia Creek and the moon looked really bright and red.
