Darwin!

King of Northern Territory!

Leanyer Recreation Park!

Leanyer Recreation Park was a free water park! there was a big pool and three big slides! We went on all of them. One of the slides was very slow and they other ones were fast.

The first time we went I wasn’t wearing swimmers so I got stuck in the slide!๐Ÿคจ The biggest slide had a raft because it was very fast and fun. ๐Ÿคฉ

The white slide was dark and fast, Mama didn’t like it. The last slide was the coloured one it was the slowest and hotter than they other ones. We went on the slides many times and stayed there till it closed!

Leanyer Recreation Park wasn’t just a water park there was a big playground and grassy area too. We did not take any photos at the water slides at Leanyer, just some of the playground.

Palmerston Water Park!

Palmerston Water Park was another free water park. It was brilliant!๐Ÿ˜

They had all the free places because their oceans were full of crocodiles. Palmerston water park was different to Leanyer Recreation Park because you had to use a mat and slide on your stomach.

The slides were also very tall and was a little bit scary at first!๐Ÿ˜… There were other parts of the water park as well. There was little kids section and the big bucket section. Palmerston water park also had a skate park there too.

Darwin Waterfront/The Wave Pool!

Darwin Wave Pool was amazing! It was a man-made pool with waves. ๐ŸŒŠ The waves would only go on for ten minutes then it would stop and so on. The waves were surprisingly very big and strong. Me and Ezra most of the time wore a ring to keep us afloat.

Darwin Waterfront was a beach cut off from the ocean so that there would be no crocodiles. The beach had a fountain on it. It was so cool. There was also a bouncing pillow on the water but you had to get tickets.

Mindil Beach Night Markets!

Mindil beach markets was a favourite of Darwin.

We went there three times! First of all of course it was the food. ๐Ÿฑ Papa had curry, Sofia and Mama had fruit and the rest of us had potato sticks. After the food we would get our sugar cane drink then we would take a-look around. Sometimes they had some shows like clown shows and fire shows.

The first time we went there they had a fire show going on so we watched it. It was very cool! We also watched the clown show it was so funny! After that we would go and watch the sun go down with everybody. The beach would be crowded and as soon as the sun went down everybody would clap. It was so interesting! It was a beautiful sun. We could look straight at it without it hurting our eyes.

After that we would go to the playground and make friends until it was time to go home.

Darwin Aviation Museum!

Darwin aviation museum was all about the raid on Darwin from the Japanese. First there was a video of the war then we went to see some aeroplanes that were used in Darwin and crashed.

Lots of aeroplanes were also would throw bombshells and had crashed in the war. On some of the signs near the aeroplanes there were storms of fighters who died or were victorious.

Near the end there was a desk with lots of paperwork for the aeroplanes to get information. At the very back there was some real bombs it was Interesting. The bombs had a parachute on them so when the the war aeroplane dropped them the bomb wouldn’t go as fast so the aeroplane wouldn’t get bombed.๐Ÿ™ƒ

Finally we went outside were there were more aeroplanes and helicopters that had fort in war.

Darwin Museum

Darwin Museum was very big, there were two storeys!

First there was the art gallery. Some of the paintings were just little dots covering the whole painting! The next section was the stuffed animal section. There were lots of birds and animals put into scenes.

After animals we went to the cyclone Tracy section. There was lots of storms and a video about Cyclone Tracy. There was also a sound room of what it sounded like. It was ๐Ÿ˜ง scary!

Next there was history of the aborigines there and stories of how they worked with the white people. There was a really cool section. The Crocodile section!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was only one Crocodile there but it was the famous Darwin Crocodile! The crocodile’s name was sweetheart! This crocodile had been causing problems in Darwin for a long time. They finally caught it and it drowned while they were catching it.

The crocodile is now in the museum all by itself.

After the crocodile we went home.

Darwin Botanical Gardens!

Darwin botanical Gardens was beautiful. ๐Ÿ˜ป

We went there on a sabbath afternoon. The first bit we went to was the pond. The pond had thousands of tadpoles in it. After squishing a couple of tadpoles we went to the community garden and bridge.

The community garden had lots of well growing fruit and vegetables ๐Ÿฅ— in it. After the garden we went to the a section with lots of vines to swing on! After swinging we went to the dinosaur section. There was lots of dinosaurs and a nice grassy spot to rest.

After resting a bit we went into the rainforest. On the way to the rainforest we found a ๐Ÿ• dog he was cute. The rainforest wasn’t a proper rainforest it just looked like one. After the rainforest we decided to go.
